Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong said both residents and visitors are safe because of the systems set up to deal with the coronavirus disease (COVID19) pandemic.
The Baguio politiko said the city government will continue with the Ridge and Reef tourism corridor program despite recent spikes in COVID19 cases in Baguio.
“Our cases maybe high but we also have high testing capability and contact tracing efficiency ratio,” Magalong said.
“What is scary is if the contact tracing comprises only 25-30% of the daily cases and as it is, we have as much as 80 to 90%,” he added.
Magalong also said entry requirements for visitors will remain stringent despite the Ridge and Reef tourism corridor program’s slow start.
“Baguio City is capable of managing the situation,” he said.
