Tinglayan Mayor Sacrament Gumilab said local tribes will perform a ritual to keep the coronavirus disease (COVID19) away from the town.
Tinglayan is still COVID19-free.
Gumilab explained that forcha is a ritual that aims to ward of il/nesses from the populace.
It involves sacrificing a chicken.
“The smoke going up symbolizes the prayers and intentions of the tribal people lifted up to the Supreme Being or Kabuniyan to protect them from the COVID19,” Gumilab said.
“The smoke is the protective veil that envelopes the municipality against the disease so that it shall be forever banned entry,” he added.
