San Fernando City Mayor Dong Gualberto led the kick-off the Community Based Monitoring System (CBMS) that aims to gather data for program planning and implementation of the city government.
The Community Based Monitoring System will be used for the collection of the socio-economic profile of households in the barangay level to help the city government in crafting programs responsive to the needs of the people.
The CBMS is a tool against poverty in more than 15 countries in Africa, Asia, and Latin America.
Gualberto joined field enumerators during the implementation of CBMS last April 20 wherein he personally interviewed his constituents.
“Gusto nating mas maintindihan kung ano ang pinagdadaanan ng ating mga kababayan sa kanilang araw-araw na buhay. With this system, we can now effectively design evidence-based programs and projects that will help us build a City where citizens are empowered because their basic needs are addressed,” Gualberto said.
