Sadanga Mayor Gabino Ganggangan on November 15 warned residents against donating to alleged front organizations of the Communist Party of the Philippines-New Peoples Army (CPP-NPA).
The Mountain Province politiko made the statement amid many calls for donations following the calamities that struck various parts of Luzon.
“While we all join the call for sharing and caring and encourage our usual Filipino Bayanihan spirit to look for our brothers/sisters in distress, may we all be reminded and forewarned also of those who will be taking advantage of the situation to advance their intention of agitating against Government and at the same time abusing the charitable nature of fellow human being to gain materially/financially for themselves and their group,” Ganggangan said.
“I am sure that by this time some if not all the front organizations of the CPP-NPA have by now issued their usual call for donations both from local and international donor agencies using the “flood and distressed situation” of our brothers in Region 2 and those in the Bicol areas,” he added.
Ganggangan, in particular, named the Cordillera People’s Alliance (CPA) as one of the CPP-NPA’s alleged front organizations.
“For us here in the Cordillera let us be wary and circumspect in giving our donations to the groups which are known to be front organization of the CPP-NPA,” he said.
“These organizations who are fond and used of doing these are the Cordillera People’s Alliance (CPA) headed by Windel Bolinget, Sara Dekdeken, Joanna Carino, et al., and their surrogate or affiliate organizations like MRDC, CHESTCORE, ORNUS, KATRIBO, Tebteba, Inabuyog, Gabriela and others,” Ganggangan added.
