Dagupan City Mayor Belen Fernandez said the city government plans to build a new park named after World War II General Douglas MacArthur.
The Dagupan politiko made the remark during the 74th Lingayen Gulf Landing anniversary commemoration last week.
Fernandez said the “MacArthur” Park will serve as a picnic area for families.
She also said the city government will allot P15-20 million for the construction of the park.
The new park will be built on a lot in the Bonuan Tondaligan area owned by the Dagupan City Water District (DCWD).
“They have given their permission to demolish that abandoned water tank there,” she said.
Fernandez also vowed to rehabilitate the other parks in Dagupan in the future.
