Mayor Belen Fernandez on June 20 said a waste-to-worth facility will soon rise in Dagupan City.
The Pangasinan politiko said he $11-million project will convert solid waste into diesel and methane gas.
Fernandez is hopeful the facility will help address Dagupan’s solid waste management.
“With this project, once and for all, we will be able to address the garbage disposal problem of our city, especially the garbage in our dumpsite,” she said.
“Our city will spearhead the use of diesel fuel in our vehicles,” Fernandez added.
She also said tricycles in the city will eventually be using methane as fuel.
“They will not have problem using methane gas, for the facility is expected to operate for 20 years,” she said.
