Tabuk City Mayor Darwin Estrañero has tested negative for the coronavirus disease (COVID19) in an RT-PCR (saliva test).
The Tabuk politiko’s Facebook page made the announcement on February 12 following rumors that Estrañero tested positive for COVID19.
Two of Estrañero’s security aides tested positive in the rapid antigen test.
“It is with great pleasure to inform the people of Tabuk City and Kalinga that the COVID19 RT-PCR (saliva test) of Mayor Darwin C. Estrañero conducted by Philippine Red Cross yielded a negative result,” it said in a statement.
“Thus, all speculations and rumors that the Mayor has contracted the virus are false,” it added.
They also said Estrañero continues to perform his duties with “extreme caution and care.”
“He likewise exhorts everyone to strictly observe health protocols to prevent the spread of this COVID19 in our community so we can all go back to our normal lives again,” Estrañero added.
