Tabuk City Mayor Darwin Estrañero said the city government has saved P53 million from the Bayanihan grant for the coronavirus disease pandemic.
The Tabuk politiko said the city government only spent P40 million for relief assistance, medical supplies, personal protective equipment, and establishment of quarantine facilities.
Estrañero said the savings showed the city government was prudent in its spending.
“We embraced wise spending of the Bayanihan grant downloaded to the local government that is why we were able to realize a significant savings,” he said.
Estrañero said the savings will be used to fund “future important programs, projects, and activities that will strengthen the city’s campaign against the spread of the deadly virus in the city.”
