Tabuk City Mayor Darwin Estrañero said no one wants to put the city on a lockdown.
The Tabuk politiko earlier imposed a 14-day lockdown in the city to stop the spread of the coronavirus.
Estrañero explained that the move had to be done to safeguard the health of residents.
“Kakailyan, idawdawat ko ti anos ken bassit py nga sakripisyo ti tumunggal maysa kadakayo. No one wants our city to be in lockdown,” he said.
“But we have to keep public health and safety paramount. Health is wealth so they say and I am calling once again for unity and cooperation amidst these challenges besetting our city,” Estrañero added.
