Baguio City Mayor Mauricio Domogan called on Cordillerans to pass on the tradition of respecting the elders of the community to the next generation.
The Baguio politiko made the statement during the culmination of the Indigenous Peoples (IP) month celebration.
Domogan said he was taught as a youth to heed the wisdom of his elders.
He said listening to what the elders have to say before making life-changing decisions is a good guide in life.
“We would like to reiterate to our younger brothers and sisters to learn to continue upholding our age-old practice of respecting our elders because they are in the know on how to guide us in the right direction in life. Let us always seek the wisdom of our elders in every endeavour that we do,” Domogan said.
