Baguio City Mayor Mauricio Domogan slammed the New Peoples Army (NPA) for the recent spate of violence in Bauko and Tadian.
The Baguio politiko made the statement as the chairman of the Cordillera Regional Peace and Order Council (RPOC-CAR).
The clashes between government forces and communist rebels resulted in the deaths of two cops and wounding of nine others.
“We want lasting peace to reign in our region. We do not deserve such atrocities that paints a bad image of the peace and order situation in our region,” Domogan said.
“Thus, we call on our brothers and sisters in the communist movement to start going back to the fold of the law for them to live a peaceful life,” he added.
