Baguio City Mayor Mauricio Domogan has lauded the Benguet Corporation (BC) for keeping its commitment to turn over its open pit site to Goldrich Natural Exploration and Development Inc for the development of a waste-to-energy plant.
“We remain committed to deliver the required volume of waste daily to guarantee the sustainability of the operation of the waste-to-energy plant which will be constructed within the company’s Antamok open pit sit,” Domogan said.
Domogan also said he had an emergency meeting with BC officials to fix some minor problems concerning the waste-to-energy plant project.
Goldrich is waiting for BC to turn over the 60-hectare Antamok open pit site so the construction of the waste-to-energy plant can already begin.
“We are grateful that we ironed out the minor problems that cropped up and we are confident that the project will push through in the near future,” he added.
