Mayor Domogan junks Baguio resolution allowing carnival in Burnham Park

Baguio City Mayor Mauricio Domogan did not sign the city council resolution allowing the operation of a carnival at the children’s playground in Burnham Park.

The Baguio politiko cited the numerous safety complaints against the Ola carnival.

The carnival was also earlier blamed for damaging the children’s playground.

The City Council earlier passed a resolution allowing the Ola carnival to operate for five months.

“We do not want to encounter the same problems that were experienced by the city when we allowed the operation of the carnival and amusement rides last summer,” Domogan said.

“We are not in favor of the resumption of the operation of the controversial amusement rides, that is why we will just make do with what the park can offer to the public,” he added.
