Mayor Domogan eyes drainage assessment after Baguio flooding

Oct 2, 2018 @ 15:15

Baguio City Mayor Mauricio Domogan wants the drainage system of the Summer Capital assessed to prevent flooding in the city.

The Baguio politiko said the volume of rainfall brought by Typhoon Ompong flooded several parts of the city.

Domogan said this indicates that Baguio’s drainage system can no longer accommodate high volume of water.

Parts of Harrison Road and Burnham Lake Drive were flooded before subsiding after 30 minutes.

“The limited flooding incidents in the city immediately subsided after Tropical Cyclone Ompong left the Philippine area of responsibility. The flooding was only for some thirty minutes before the water subsided,” Domogan said.
