Baguio City Mayor Mauricio Domogan said the Department of Energy (DOE) is providing a P6-million grant for the completion of the ongoing feasibility study on the proposed integrated solid waste disposal facility at the Antamok area in the Benguet Corporation (BC) property.
The Baguio politiko said the grant is another step in the Summer Capital’s long overdue solution to its waste disposal problem.
Domogan lauded DOE Secretary Alfonso Cusi for greenlighting the grant.
“We are grateful to Energy Secretary Cusi for willingly providing the needed funds to complete the feasibility study,” he said.
Domogan said the P6-million grant will allow Baguio “to pursue the long overdue integrated solid waste disposal facility to put an end to our garbage disposal problems, especially the BLISTT local governments,” he added.
