Baguio City Mayor Mauricio Domogan said the local government will need to develop a own garbage disposal facility if the proposed sanitary landfill in Itogon does not push through.
The Baguio politiko said the city government will have no choice but to develop its property in Santo Tomas-Apugan in case this happens.
“We will have no choice but to develop Santo Tomas even if it will cost us much,” Domogan said.
An estimated P300 million is needed to develop the road network going to the Santo Tomas-Apugan property.
This is aside from the cost of the construction of the waste disposal facility.
“We will have to allot budget for the construction of a road going to the site and ESL and later on the establishment of the most appropriate technology that we could adopt to dispose and process our garbage,” he added.
