Sual Mayor Liseldo Calugay said he is eyeing a second power plant in the municipality.
The Pangasinan politiko said that the town needs another power plant to support the establishment of economic zones in Pangasinan.
A $2-billion coal-fired power plant is being proposed by the Korean Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO).
Calugay said he wants to formulate Sual’s Comprehensive Land Use Plan (CLUP) so that areas for power plants, factories, seaports, and other factories can be identified.
“The planned Sual International Seaport is a major infrastructure that will benefit not only our town but the whole province because it will serve as the landing area for domestic and international container ships,” he said.
