Mankayan Mayor Frenzel Ayong has offered displaced Buguias market vendors to temporarily set up their wares within the municipal government’s property in Abatan.
Dozens of displaced vendors earlier slammed the Buguias municipal government for alleged favoritism on the awarding of stalls in the new market building.
The Benguet politiko said the displaced vendors can continue their business activities in the vacant space.
Ayong said he hopes to boost economic activity in the vacant parking area.
“We were able to observe a significant improvement in the economic activities in the area where our municipal building is located that is why we hope that we will be able to gain from allowing the portion of the parking area to be temporarily used by the displaced vendors for their business activities,” Ayong said.
