Mankayan Mayor Frenzel Ayong said the municipal government has given aid to security guards because of the impact of the coronavirus disease (COVID19) pandemic.
The Benguet politiko said security guards of two security firms will be given relief assistance because they haven’t received their salaries for the past four to six months.
The security guards are servicing a local mining company.
“We fully understand the situation of our security guards, being minimum wage earners,” Ayong said.
“We will extend the needed assistance to them to allow them to cope with the impact of the community quarantine,” he added.
