Mankayan Mayor Frenzel Ayong said municipalities from Benguet, Mountain Province, and Ilocos Sur should look for “win-win” solutions to their boundary disputes.
The Mankayan politiko said he is planning to explore informal talks with other municipalities to resolve their boundary disputes.
Mankayan has boundary disputes with Bauko, Mountain Province over parts of Am-am in Balili, Tadian, Mountain Province over parts of Dacudac, Buguias, Benguet over parts of Abatan, and with Cervantes, Ilocos Sur over portions of Cabiten.
Ayong said resolving the boundary disputes will also increase the internal revenue allotment (IRA) of each municipality.
“We will try to explore informal ways of threshing out the issues that caused the disputes and work on possible win-win solutions for all the concerned parties to come up with agreements to end such rifts,” he said.
