Mayor Ayong: DSWD programs help 900 Mankayan residents


Mankayan Mayor Frenzel Ayong said almost 900 individuals have received or are set to receive various forms of assistance from government agencies amid the coronavirus disease (COVID19) pandemic.

The Benguet politiko the Social Welfare Department already distributed financial aid to 397 residents under its cash-for-work program.

Meanwhile, 316 residents will receive financial aid from its Tulong Pangkabuhayan Para Sa Ating Displaced and Disadvantaged Workers (TUPADD) program.

Another 180 individuals are set to financial help under the Social Welfare Department’s Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program.

Ayong said Benguet caretaker and ACT-CIS Representative Eric Yap urged the province’s municipal governments to identify beneficiaries for the DSWD’s various programs.

“In behalf of the people and officialdom of Mankayan, we would like to express our sincerest gratitude to Congressman Yap for his generosity and dedication to bring genuine public service to the province even if he is not from our place,” he said.

“His passion to provide the needed assistance to those who are really need of help serves as an inspiration and motivation for us to elevate our efforts to provide services to our constituents to greater heights,” Ayong added.
