Mankayan Mayor Frenzel Ayong said that the members of the town’s contact tracing team is now up to 19.
The Mankayan municipal government only had eight contact tracers earlier.
Ayong said the new contact tracers are currently undergoing training.
He added that they will immediately be deployed.
“There is a possibility of the surge in COVID cases in the Lepanto mine camp in the coming days thus we are closely coordinating with the concerned sectors to ensure that our quarantine and isolation facilities will be ready for any eventuality and to prevent our local health care system from being stressed and our health workers and other frontliners from being overwhelmed,” Ayong said.
