Mankayan Mayor Frenzel Ayong said the 289 close contacts of the town’s first coronavirus disease (COVID19) patient tested negative for the deadly virus.
The Benguet politiko said the patient has already been discharged from the hospital.
The patient is a job order health worker.
“We are elated that our first COVID patient recovered and is now raring to continue performing her assigned duties and responsibilities in the health center where she is assigned,” he said.
Ayong also called the patient’s discharge a “glorious day.”
“It is a glorious day for the people of Mankayan because aside from her recovering from the virus, her close contacts also tested negative for the same,” he said.
