Alcala Mayor Tin Antonio said the town will need a bigger municipal nursery soon.
The Cagayan politiko recently visited the nursery where various tree seedlings are currently being cultivated.
Antonio last year said there is a need to build a “mighty, green wall” to help mitigate the severe flooding in the town.
She said she wants to plant 29,500 native forest and flowering trees along highways and roadsides in the town.
“Our bagras, balitbitan, supa, molave, kamansi, banaba, bagawak morado, vidal’s lanutan seeds have come to life!” Antonio said.
“We need to build a bigger Alcala municipal nursery very soon! Philippine native trees all the way,” she added.
