Alcala Mayor Tin Antonio said the municipal government’s coronavirus disease (COVID19) pandemic response is being challenged by the severe flooding in the town last week.
The Cagayan politiko said she is concerned that the coronavirus might spread in evacuation centers.
“It’s very challenging because the threat of the virus spreading is really real,” she said.
But Antonio explained that the municipal government is implementing strict health protocols for everyone.
“We also appointed safety officers in each of the evacuation centers to go around to remind people to wear their masks properly. To disinfect the surrounding. It’s really orderliness and cleanliness and disinfection,” she said.
