Former Pasuquin Mayor Victoria Aguinaldo and her husband Oscar Aguinaldo were acquitted of graft charges in connection to the irregular purchase of diesel fuel in 2012.
The case stemmed from the Pasuquin municipal government’s procurment of 2,600 liters of diesel worth P123,500 from a gas station owned by the former mayor’s husband.
The Sandiganbayan said the prosecution failed to prove that “there is complete absence of any testimony that the procurement of 2,600 liters of diesel was required to be done through competitive bidding.”
But the Sandiganbayan convicted the Aguinaldos of breach of conduct.
They were sentenced to pay a fine of P5,000 each.
