Ilocos Norte Governor Matthew Manotoc announced that they are launching an incentive program to villages that can maintain a low number of COVID-19 cases.
In a press briefing, the Politiko said that the “Barangay Incentivization Program Against COVID-19” is an additional measure to encourage residents to stay indoors and follow precautionary measures to avoid more infections and local transmission.
He said that data will be collected from August 15 to September 15.
Those who will slow down the spread of the virus will be given a P15,000 to P120,000 incentive from the lgu.
Based on the August 15 data of the DOH, Ilocos Norte is flagged to be one of the high risk areas in the country with a high two-week average daily attack rate at 42.83 per 100,000 population, the highest among all the provinces in the country outside the National Capital Region.
