Matthew Manotoc to run for Ilocos Norte gov instead of Imelda Marcos

Nov 30, 2018 @ 17:49

Ilocos Norte 2nd District Senior Board Member Matthew Manotoc will be running for governor in place of her grandmother, 2nd District Representative Imelda Marcos.

The former First Lady withdrew her candidacy following her conviction of seven counts of graft by the Sandiganbayan.

She was found guilty of transferring around $200 million to seven Swiss foundations during her term as a member of the defunct Batasang Pambansa and as former Minister of Human Settlements.

Substituting Manotoc as candidate for vice governor is Board Member Nonong Marcos.

Manotoc is running with the motto “Mangbiag, mangpapipigsa, mangidaulo (To revive, to strengthen, to lead).”
