Baguio City Representative Mark Go’s proposed measure creating the Cordillera State Institute for Technical Education (CSITE) is now up for President Rodrigo Duterte’s signature.
Under the proposed measure, the Baguio City School of Arts and Trades, the Regional Training Center-Baguio, the Provincial Training Centers in Abra, Ifugao, Kalinga, and Mountain Province, the Apayao Training Center, and the Benguet Training Center will be put under CSITE.
CSITE aims to synergize the institutions to deliver quality, relevant, and high level Technical Vocational Education and Training Programs in the Cordillera Region.
Go earlier said the creation of a regional academic hub will help develop “competent, innovative and creative techvoc graduates.”
“The creation of CSITE would strengthen the country’s tech-voc education effecting a major shift towards the development of a world-class Filipino workforce,” he said.
