Baguio City Representative Mark Go on June 29 said the government must ensure that the Agriculture Department gets the budget it needs.
The Baguio politiko made the remark during the Committee on North Luzon Growth Quadrangle hearing for the Philippine Center for Post-Harvest Development and Mechanization’s 2021 budget.
Go said having enough funds will ensure that Philippine agriculture will make “a significant stride in terms of improving productivity of our agricultural sector.”
“Agriculture is a very critical component of our development in this country. That’s why it’s important that we increase and optimize its budget,” he said.
“We need to leverage technology and train our people on corporate farming as an approach in improving productivity of our lands in the whole country,” Go added.
