Baguio City Representative Mark Go has expressed his joy following the passage of the bill giving free dialysis to indigent patients in on third and final reading before the 17th Congress adjourned on sine die.
The Baguio politiko said House Bill No. 9156 will “alleviate the sufferings of our poor patients with Chronic Kidney Disease.”
Go said the proposed measure aims to give “free dialysis treatment to indigent patients as identified by the DSWD and the establishment of dialysis services wards and units in national, regional and provincial government hospital.”
The bill also mandates comprehensive renal replacement therapy (RRT) for patients with end stage renal disease.
Go said the prevailing rates for dialysis treatment is “too much burden” for indigent patients.
“We will continue working for the approval of this bill as a law and a Healthy Philippines in the 18th Congress,” he said.
