Baguio City Representative Mark Go has filed House Bill No. 8313 and House Bill No. 8314 which seek to postpone the increase in contribution rates of the Social Security System (SSS) and Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) respectively.
In the his proposed measure, the Baguio politiko wants the increase in contribution rates to be deferred for two years.
Go explained that the country’s economy has been severely affected by the coronavirus disease (COVID19) pandemic.
He said many Filipinos don’t have the capability to shoulder the increase in contribution rates.
Go also said the deferment will not affect the financial viability of SSS and Philhealth.
