Baguio City Representative Mark Go, on his oath-taking last June 30, vowed to “provide reasonable and more equitable compensation to barangay officials, employees, and volunteer workers.”
The Baguio politiko said that he wants to acknowledge the efforts of barangay workers since they are the frontliners in providing basic service, and the maintenance of law and order.
“To assist them in providing better service, we will target empowering them through training and skills development,” Go said.
He also said being a barangay worker is often a thankless job.
“It does not have to be that way. We will endeavor to make it attractive and worthwhile to join their ranks so that more people will be drawn to public service,” Go explained.
