Baguio City Representative Mark Go said the House of Representatives puts a premium on education’s role in nation-building.
The Baguio politiko made the remark during the his parliamentary speech at the open forum of the “Parliamentary Partnership on Educational and Cultural Cooperation for Sustainable Development” Virtual Conference.
Go said this is the reason why the Lower Chamber seeks to align the measures it passes with international guidelines.
“At the House of Representatives, we have always valued education to be at the forefront of the building of nation and society,” he said.
“As such, we constantly endeavor to align our legislative work with the ASEAN vision and the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals on education, through our respective Basic Education and Higher Education Committees,” Go added.
