Baguio City Representative Mark Go said the Summer Capital could lose its status as one of the country’s top tourist destinations if it does not preserve its attractions.
The Baguio politiko said he filed House Bill No. 7966 precisely to develop, preserve, and protect the city’s iconic Burnham Park.
The proposed measure aims to declare Burnham Park as a National Heritage Park.
“We have been blessed to have this unique climate in the city which is a natural attraction for a lot of people already,” Go said.
“However, we could all together lose our place as a top tourist destination if we do not do something about the places that make our city a must-see attraction,” he added.
Go also promised to build more “green spaces” in Baguio.
“We will build greenbelts and convert open spaces into green spaces,” he said.
“We will make tree-planting activities scientific so that we can ensure that the trees we plant will grow and thrive,” he added.
