The Department of Agriculture has released an initial assessment of the damages left by Severe Tropical Storm Maring in the Cordillera Administrative Region.
According to the DA, the typhoon has destroyed at least Php. 29.40 million worth of agricultural properties and products after its onslaught over the weekend and early this week.
Its report also cited that “Maring” affected 1,128 farmers, with a volume of production loss at 1,713 metric tons (MT) and damaged 1,225 hectares of agricultural areas.
The DA, through its regional field offices, is further assessing and validating the damage and losses brought by “Maring” in the agri-fisheries sector in the region and in North Luzon.
