The Marcos family has consolidated its hold on Ilocos Norte after several members of the family won in the May 13 midterm elections.
Leading the pack is Governor Imee Marcos, who is poised to be proclaimed senator.
Her son, Matthew Manotoc is also set to take over as governor after running unopposed following 1st District Representative Rodolfo Fariñas withdrawal of his candidacy.
Manotoc’s aunt, Cecille Araneta Marcos, will serve as vice governor.
His uncle, incumbent Vice Governor Eugenio Marcos Barba, is set to replace former first lady Imelda Marcos as 2nd district representative.
The Marcoses also ended the Fariñas’ clans hold on Laoag City after Michael Marcos Keon’s win over incumbent Mayor Chevylle Fariñas.
