Marcos asks Duterte to restore infra budget in Ilocos Norte District 2

Sep 18, 2018 @ 17:35

Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos asked President Rodrigo Duterte’s help to restore the public works budget of District 2.

The politiko did this when Duterte went to Laoag City to get an update on the effects of Typhoong Ompong.

“Our province has sustained an initial P3.2 billion in agricultural and infrastructural damages due to Typhoon Ompong. It’s very clear-cut, particularly in District 2. May I urge that the Public Works to restore the 2nd District allocation which was removed from the budget last year, “said Marcos.

She said 92% of the damage occurred in the 2nd District “based on unfinished projects that were not continued.”

Still, Marcos is thankful that zero casualties were recorded in Ilocos Norte.

“It’s nothing short of a miracle: a lot of prayer and a total number of evacuees of almost 14,000. We started with pre-emptive evacuation very early on Wednesday night, so they said I was exaggerated, but as it turned out, it worked,” she said.
