The Mankayan municipal government conducted a trial run for total lockdown in the town last March 23 to 24.
The move came amid the Luzon-wide enhanced community quarantine because of the coronavirus (COVID-19).
Mayor Frenzel Ayong explained the trial run will allow residents to understand the prevailing situation.
“We continue to aggressively inform our constituents on the present declaration of the President that Luzon is on a state of enhanced community quarantine for them to understand why concerned government agencies and the local government is implementing rules and regulations that restrict the movement of people and compel them to stay at home,” he said.
Ayong also assured residents that the town will continue to have rice supply amid the Luzon-wide quarantine.
He said he already talked to Cervantes municipal officials to allow the entry of rice to Mankayan.
