Local businesses boom after Farmers Market launch in Ilocos Sur

More businesses have been inspired to open in Narvacan, Ilocos Sur after the opening of its world-class farmers market.

According to a report on economic data of the municipal government, 916 new businesses have been registered in the lgu in 2021. It added that the total number of businesses last year climbed to 2,338 or a 64-percent increase from 1,422 business renewals in 2020.

The new businesses consisted of food and non-food stalls at the public market including other businesses in the information technology, tourism, and agriculture sectors, among others.

“The economic boom in Narvacan provided an increase in capital investments and more employment opportunities for the locals,” mayor-elect Pablito Sanidad Sr. said.
