Late Tuguegarao City Councilor Danilo Baccay was awarded a posthumous award on Friday, July 15, by the city government for his more than two decades of contribution in the city’s legislative affairs and development.

The Politiko won last May 9 elections but passed away due to a recurring illness on July 13. Baccay served as councilor from 1992 to 2001, 2004 to 2007, and from 2016 until his death. He was also the city’s vice mayor from 2003 to 2013.

His legacy was honored in an awarding ceremony at the city hall where his contributions to the local legislative council were remembered.

During his terms, he made way to the approval of the Solid Waste Management Code, Real Property Tax Code, Public Market Code, Local Revenue Code, and Barangay People’s Day.
