The La Union Provincial Board has declared May 12 as Eufranio “Franny” Eriguel Day.
The La Union politiko was murdered on May 12, 2018 during a political rally with barangay leaders.
La Union 2nd District Representative and Eriguel’s widow Sandra Eriguel thanked the provincial government for the move.
“I express my gratitude to the Sanguniang Panlalawigan and the entire provincial government of La Union, headed by Gov. Pacoy Ortega, for remembering Franny and dedicating this day as Eriguel Day,” she said.
“I implore our dear constituents, our Second District family, to remember congressman Franny, who, to his last day, did what he loved most: To be with the people. Let us remain hopeful that justice will soon be served, and peace may once again reign in our beloved La Union,” Eriguel added.
