Alcala Mayor Cristina “Tin” Antonio’s vision to put up a green wall in her municipality is slowly coming into fruition.
On Tuesday, November 24, 560 native tree saplings were planted in Alcala as part of the politiko’s initiative to make her town more disaster-proof following the onslaught of Typhoon Ulysses.
“The Green Wall of Alcala tree-planting at the SWIP access roads in Dalaoig, Agani, Masin and Tupang. Together we were able to plant today 190 itangan, 45 banai-banai, 25 rarang and 300 bagras — all beautiful native trees,” Antonio said in a Facebook post.
“Thank you, volunteers, for your participation, enthusiasm, and love for our town Alcala!” she added.
