Dagupan City Mayor Belen Fernandez on January 27 said P6 million has been allocated for the renovation of the Malimgas Public Market.
The Pangasinan politiko said the renovation aims to make the Malimgas Public Market cleaner and more enticing to customers.
Fernandez also said that the market is generating more than enough income to pay for the city government’s loan used to build it in 2003.
She said the city government used to reallocate funds so that the quarterly amortization of the market could be paid.
But the Malimgas Public Market, Fernandez said, is now fully occupied, enabling it to be self-sustainable.
