Senator Imee Marcos has filed a bill that would allow the Commission on Elections (Comelec) to choose other providers for vote-counting machines.
The Ilocano politiko filed Senator Bill Number 221 which would amend Republic Act Number 9269 “which bars other service providers from participating so that Smartmatic becomes the only available choice.
“Amending the controversial provision will give other AES providers the chance to be chosen by Comelec and will “pave the way for more transparent elections,” she added.
