Senator Imee Marcos has filed Senate Bill No. 410 seeking to exempt joint-venture agreements (JVA) in Marawi from procurement and investment restrictions.
The Ilocos Norte politiko said the move aims to fasttrack Marawi’s rehabilitation.
In her proposed measure, exemptions will only be granted to “the recovery, reconstruction, and rehabilitation projects for the most affected areas of Marawi City.”
Marcos also wants to replace Task Force Bangon Marawi with the Bangon Marawi Council.
“It is important to start now with the restoration of the main mosque which is the central fixture of the community,” she said.
