Senator Imee Marcos said the Duterte administration should coordinate with the United Nations (UN) in connection with the evacuation of overseas Filipino workers (OFW) in the Middle East.
The Ilocos Norte politiko made the remark after the government said it plans to deploy military assets to help in the evacuation efforts.
Marcos said Environment Secretary Roy Cimatu should ask the UN to provide site camps for OFWs.
She also said it seems the government has not thought about asking the UN for assistance.
“Dapat makipag-ugnayan si Secretary Cimatu sa UN na may maraming mga tauhan sa Middle East, kabilang ang mga Pilipino,” she said.
