Senator Imee Marcos said that Development Communication (DevCom) courses have become passé.
The Ilocos Norte politiko made the remark when she grilled Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Director General Ramon Cualoping on the agency’s proposed budget for its Development Communication (DevCom) program.
Cualoping said the program aims to improve grassroots communication.
But Marcos said most universities have dropped DevCom from their course lists.
“Devcom, even as a subject taught in universities, has been largely debunked. Hindi na siya uso eh,” she said.
“Wala na ngang course ‘yan sa iba’t ibang eskwelahan,” Marcos added.
