Archbishop Marlo Peralta of Nueva Segovia, Ilocos Sur has urged President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. not to fail Filipinos.
The Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) news website reported that Peralta made the call over Radio Veritas.
“Please, Mr. President, do not fail them,” Peralta said, “especially those who are struggling every day to meet the needs of their families.”
“I pray that you’re always aware that the majority of the Filipino people are poor and they look up to you to uplift their lives,” he added.
On his part, the archbishop told Marcos, “I pray that you’ll succeed in your presidency.”
The prelate made the call following the inauguration of Marcos, who also served as governor, vice governor, and congressman of Ilocos Norte.
