Ilocos Norte remains free from African Swine Fever (ASF).
The Provincial Veterinary Office made the announcement amid the spread of the disease in Northern Luzon.
“Half of the provinces in Northern Luzon are ASF-affected,” Provincial Veterinarian Loida Valenzuela said.
The Bureau of Animal Industry earlier reported that Cagayan, Kalinga, Benguet, Ifugao, Nueva Vizcaya, Pangasinan, and Isabela have all been hit with ASF.
“Ilocos Norte is one of the few provinces that are still safe from ASF including Ilocos Sur, Apayao, and four other provinces,” she added.
